Hypersensitive to lincomycin or clindamycin or any of the drug's components
Warnings and precautions
C. difficile infection
Use extreme caution in all patients including patients who present with diarrhea following antibiotic use.
Decreased CSF lincomycin levels
Maintain a high level of suspicion in patients with meningitis as, concentrations of lincomycin in the CSF may be inadequate for the treatment of meningitis.
Gasping syndrome
Maintain a high level of suspicion, as the preservative benzyl alcohol has been associated with serious adverse events.

GFR 50-80 mL/min
Use acceptable. No dose adjustment required. Monitor serum concentrations.
GFR 30-50 mL/min
Use with caution. Monitor serum concentrations.

Use only if clearly needed. Evidence of fetal harm in humans. Parenteral lincomycin contains benzyl alcohol, which can cross the placenta and has been associated with neonatal gasping syndrome.
