There are no specific exclusion criteria for its use, but it is less applicable in cases where the cancer is not a solid tumor, such as with leukemia or lymphoma. It is also less useful in cases where the cancer has already metastasized to multiple distant sites, as the focus then shifts to systemic therapy rather than localized treatment.
