The ABCD² score is a clinical prediction rule used to determine the risk of stroke within the next few days after a transient ischemic attack (TIA). The acronym stands for Age, Blood pressure, Clinical features, Duration of symptoms, and Diabetes. 

This calculator is applicable to patients who have experienced a TIA or "mini-stroke". It helps clinicians to stratify the risk of subsequent stroke, which can guide further diagnostic evaluation and treatment. 

The ABCD² score may not be suitable for use in patients with non-ischemic transient neurological symptoms, or in those with a clear alternative diagnosis for their symptoms. It is also less accurate in predicting stroke risk beyond the immediate few days following a TIA.
