The PEDIS score is a clinical calculator used specifically for the classification of diabetic foot ulcers. PEDIS stands for Perfusion, Extent/size, Depth/tissue loss, Infection, and Sensation. This scoring system is used to assess the severity of foot ulcers in patients with diabetes and to guide treatment decisions. 

The PEDIS score applies to the patient population of individuals with diabetes who have developed foot ulcers. The clinical utility of this calculator is to stratify the risk of complications, guide the management of the ulcer, and predict the prognosis. 

There are no specific exclusion criteria for the use of the PEDIS score. However, it may not be as useful or accurate in patients with conditions that can mimic or complicate diabetic foot ulcers, such as peripheral artery disease or neuropathy from causes other than diabetes.
