The Modified Fisher Grade is a clinical scoring system used specifically for patients who have experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). This calculator is used to predict the risk of cerebral vasospasm following a subarachnoid hemorrhage. The Modified Fisher Grade takes into account the amount and distribution of subarachnoid blood visible on a patient's initial computed tomography (CT) scan. 

The clinical utility of this calculator is to help clinicians predict the likelihood of delayed cerebral ischemia, which can lead to severe neurological deficits or death. It can guide therapeutic decisions and inform discussions about prognosis with patients and their families.

There are no specific exclusion criteria for the use of the Modified Fisher Grade. However, it should be noted that this scoring system is less accurate in patients with aneurysmal SAH who have undergone early aneurysm treatment, as this can alter the appearance of blood on the CT scan.
