The International Prognostic Scoring System (IPSS) for Hodgkin's lymphoma is a clinical calculator used to predict the prognosis of patients diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of lymphatic system cancer. This scoring system is based on seven factors: age, gender, stage, albumin level, hemoglobin level, white blood cell count, and lymphocyte count. The IPSS is used to stratify patients into different risk groups, which can guide treatment decisions and provide information about the patient's likely course of disease. It is applicable to patients with newly diagnosed Hodgkin's lymphoma. The IPSS may not be suitable for patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or other types of cancer, or for patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma who have already started treatment.
