The Cardiac Arrest Risk Triage score, commonly referred to as the CART score, is a clinical calculator used in the field of cardiology. It is specifically designed to predict the risk of cardiac arrest in hospitalized patients. The CART score is particularly useful in identifying patients who may benefit from more intensive monitoring or intervention to prevent cardiac arrest. It takes into account various factors such as age, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and consciousness level. The CART score is not recommended for use in patients who are already in cardiac arrest or those with Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR) orders.
